I recently read “The Fund”, which is a book about Bridgewater, the world’s largest hedge fund and its founder Ray Dalio. The book is a disturbing “Animal Farm” like exposé of Radical Untransparency. I still like much of Dalio’s advice and views, but my idea of him as a person changed dramatically.
I highly recommend reading the book. It’s riveting!
This year I’ve gone made a 180 regarding Elon Musk, and I now consider him a genius. What he has done, and the risks he has taken is nothing short of amazing. The fund has made me do a similar 180 about Ray Dalio. He has made a fortune, but the way he did it is just really really wrong in so many ways. And still he is a fountain of wisdom. The best thing about this is the meta lesson that somebody’s actions and words can be worlds apart.
