1994: I was just recently hired straight out of business school. Within a few months, just about 30 years ago in the summer of 1994, my employer realized that I was analyst material rather than broker material and made me switch tack within the firm. Up until then I’d never even considered the different roles or that I could be anything but a stock broker.
